Maybe it’s that the sites are designed to be multimedia rich with photos, video, and music in an elegant design. Or maybe it’s that it’s fully customizable and no two templates look the same. But one thing’s for sure: Tumblr has rocked the blog world in 2011 which makes us think: what’s in the future for Tumblr in 2012?
As this infographic from Mashable shows, Tumblr has serious brand-building potential. A few things to consider:
- Using Tumblr as an additional online presence can benefit your brand-building efforts by giving you a space to informally address your community and post fun photos, videos and content with personality.
- Built-in tagging and sharing capabilities make your content easily discoverable and spreadable among Tumblr’s existing community.
- The sheer size of Tumblr’ userbase has surpassed that of WordPress, one of the most popular and widely-used blogging platforms to date. Oh, and did we mention their 900% increase was achieved in just a year?
