Kevin J. Burns

Mr. Burns co-founded Lazard Technology Partners in 1998. He has led many of the fund's software investments including: Boxtone, Compatible Systems, Cyveillance, Intellitactics, Managed Objects, SignalSoft and Vocus. Mr. Burns was also actively involved as a director of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) from 1998 to 2008, and served as chairman of the board from 2005 to 2008. Currently, Mr. Burns is the Lead Director at Vocus and chairman of the board of directors at Boxtone, Inc. (private)
Prior to Lazard Technology Partners, Mr. Burns was the founder, President and CEO of Intersolv, Inc. from 1982 to 1996. Over this period, Intersolv grew from a startup to a worldwide leader in application development and management software with over $200M in revenue and customers in 22 countries. Mr. Burns led Intersolv's IPO in 1986 and the subsequent sale of the company to Microfocus of the UK in 1998.
Mr. Burns holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
