Just weeks before launching Tyz Scarves, Ruth signed up for a Vocus package that includes access to Vocus’ extensive media database of profiles and contact information for journalists and bloggers. With the database in hand, Ruth no longer had to spend hours searching for the right media contacts; all the information she needed was now at her fingertips.
"It’s a very time-consuming process to try to find the right contacts independently, especially when their information was wrong half the time," she says. "So to have the media listings right in front of me in the database, with contact information that I knew was right, was great."
With the right media contacts, the next step was getting the word out. Ruth signed up for a package of two PRWeb online news releases per month - after publishing just four releases, Tyz Scarves was featured in Trends Magazine, Accessories Magazine, in fashion and invention blogs, and even in the local newspaper.
"There’s absolutely no comparison between the price I’m paying for this product and service and what I’d have to pay for advertising," she says. "Plus, I’m getting the information about my product out in a format that people will read. Vocus has brought the power of PR and marketing to people and businesses like me, who would really be struggling otherwise."
